Board of Review
The board of review meets on the Tuesday following the first Monday in March to review and examine the property assessment roll made by the assessor. The board must also meet at 9:00 a.m. on the second Monday and Tuesday in March for a least six hours each day. Under the Open Meetings Act, the board of review must hear assessment complaints from taxpayers, and the board shall, upon landowners showing sufficient cause, correct the assessment on any particular property to make the valuation relatively just and equal. The board may also meet on the Tuesday following the second Monday in December and on the Tuesday after the third Monday in July to review and correct clerical errors or mutual mistakes of fact on assessments.
